"Growth is the only evidence of life."
I like this quote by someone, I forget who, doesn't overly much matter who, since I find it common to see several people credited for the same quote.
As far as growth is concerned, it strikes me growth itself is an indication of death along with it. The fewer the words the harder it is to come up with anything notably significant. Writing a novel may be hard but it is harder to write a short story' It is easier itself to write than a poem. Quotes are even harder. There are a lot of fatuous quotes, some so called said by famous people which are quite, I should say, trite. Henry James I think is one. Oh well, I suppose we all will be a long time trite soon enough.
